The printed measurement grid helps to mark projects for accurate cutting. The 72″ by 40″ cutting mat has a screen printed 70″ by 38″ gridwork. It measures approximately 0.085″ thick. The printed numbers are on the outside of the grid so as to remain visible while cutting. Diagonals mark 45° angles and yardage numbers allow for easy cutting of common sizes. Made is USA Great Mat NO Smell- I am so happy I purchased this Mat after looking around a lot. No awful smell. I wanted a larger mat to cut pants and long dress panels. After reading tons of reviews about having mats that smelled really bad, I figured I should try this one. Joann’s website should state it’s a USA product.

I really love this mat, I had no issues with it laying flat, I removed it from the shipping carton and put it on my pool table. It wasn’t too long before it was flat and useable.

Saves my table from scratches and saves time with measuring yardage. I quilt and measuring for the back piece used to mean getting the tape measure out multiple times. This is large enough to help with that. Good thickness (my table has slats so I needed something sturdy so I could use my rotary cutter and self healing cutting mat). The only thing that could make this better is if this mat WAS a self healing cutting mat. I have cut on it, but tried to be gentle so as not to cut the mat. It would take a lot to go through it. I saved the box it came in and roll it up between uses and put it back in the box. Doesn’t take up much space in the sewing room!
